A Little Experience
Last year, my dog suffered terribly from dog skin problems. He had dry skin, dandruff and hair loss. It was awful watching him in such discomfort. He was scratching and itching almost all the time. He frequently could be seen biting his own skin. His hairs could be seen all across our front room, on the chairs, the carpets, the cushions. Areas of his skin were exposed to the extreme cold we were suffering at the time. I felt so sorry for him. He had clearly lost the spring in his step, and his eyes had lost his sparkle.
When we took a closer look at his skin, we saw something that really shocked us. His skin had become darker, cracked and inflamed. It had lost its smoothness and instead was rough and sore. He even had the occasional weeping sore, and scabs.
So we looked into what the cause of the problem could have been, and we were surprised at the many causes of such an ailment. Skin conditions in dogs can be caused by an allergy or irritation caused by certain products that they may be exposed to in your household, such as harmful cleaning products. So we switched to a number of new biologically tested and animal safe products. Nothing changed in our dogs problems. So we took him to the vets.
The first thing the vets told us was that it could be an underlying disease, or parasite. After a few tests, we found out that our dog had an endocrine disorder. It was also lacking in the correct vitamins and minerals required to build a healthy coat and promote soft skin.
In an attempt to stop the dog scratching, we switched him onto to a diet richer in vitamin D and fatty acids. We then added the specially formulated Yumega Dog to his food. At first, he was a little apprehensive to eat his food (he knew that something was different) but with a clever bit of concealment, he was quite happy to eat his food, and now, you wouldn’t know that anything had changed. His coat is healthier. He no longer scratches, his skin is more than healthy, and he is back to his happy self again.
