Troubleshooting
Guide for The Original Feeding Friend
This information will help you answer most questions you may get from customers. |
|
|
|
|
| Problem: Is there a way to have a hose for their garden as well as a hose for the water-dish connected to the same faucet? | |
| Solution: Any garden supply or hardware store will carry a faucet ‘splitter.’ This will enable them to have two hoses connected to one faucet. | |
| Problem: The connection between the hose and the swivel hose connector on the feeder is leaking. How can you stop the leak? SEE GRAPHIC BELOW. | |
| Solution: If they’ve tightened the hose connection as much as they can and it is still leaking, they may need Teflon tape or thread seal tape. They can wrap this around the hose threads and it will make the seal tighter between the hose and the brass swivel connector. This tape can be found in any hardware store. | |
| Problem: How do you change the position of the food dish? | |
| Solution: Lift the connector piece (the collar) that sits directly on the water dish and turn it either to the left or right of the water dish or facing the back of the water dish. The food dish and food hopper will then sit on top of the connector facing in the desired direction. | |
| Problem: How can you adjust the water level in the water dish? | |
| Solution: Slightly loosen the float valve nut inside of the water dish and push it upward for more water or downward for less water. Make sure that the ‘hump’ on the left side of the dish is still covered with water so that pests can’t access the pet food. | |
| Problem: The lid is hard to put on the hopper (the food supply holder on top) | |
| Solution: It is designed to fit tightly. Over time it will loosen up. | |
| Problem: The water is overflowing in the water dish. | |
| Solution: SEE THE GRAPHIC BELOW. Lift the float valve up and out of the "U" shaped slot, turn the float valve over and gently reinsert the unit into the "U" shaped slot. | |

|
| 1: Feeder
was received with broken parts. 2: Feeder leaks from underneath, not where the garden hose is attached. 3: The water is overflowing out of the water dish and the customer has already turned the float valve over. (This means there may be a leak where the float valve and elbow meet.) |
