Pet Rescues

Rock-Bitch.com; Owner (Model/Designer and Rockstar Wife) Melissa Pearcy got her inspiration from her husband’s career to launch a Rockstar Chic online pet boutique; Rock-Bitch.com; “The ultimate rock gear for your pet”.

Angela: Hi Melissa, when did you first launch Rock-Bitch?

Melissa: Rock-Bitch.com launched in August of 2010.

Angela: This is a very unique idea, What inspired you to create this company? What kind of feedback are you getting from people?

Melissa: Three Years ago I created the company Not So Shabby Pets where all the pet furniture is painted white, and is in a vintage, cottage style with rose appliques. Since I am married to a Rock Musician, I decided to design a line that would be geared more towards “Rockers”. I sat down and drew out some ideas, and within the next day I got started on building my first Rock Bitch pet bed. I didn’t want to add it to my Not So Shabby Pets line, so I created a whole new business specifically for all of the Rockstar Chic items I would be selling.

I have been getting overwhelming positive feedback on everything that I carry on Rock-Bitch.com. Everyone from Rockstars to Actors, to people who just love to spoil their pets, they all find our products to be unique and high quality.

Angela: In your online photos, I see cats and small dogs. Do you sell products for larger dogs as well?

Melissa: Yes, all of our pet furniture is fully customizable so it can be built specifically for the customers needs. We also offer one of a kind vintage rock t-shirts that are handmade using vintage “human” concert tees, which are available in a variety of sizes.

Angela: Are all of your products able to be used by both dogs and cats?

Melissa: Yes, in fact I personally only have cats so the majority of the photos on the website are of my own pets (all rescues). All of my cats have their own pet bed, and believe it or not they also don’t mind wearing a rock tee every once in a while. A lot of my customers purchase for both their cats, and their dogs.

Angela: I notice you are involved with Animal Rescue and you Donate regularly to Charities. Can you tell me more about this?

Melissa: Yes, I personally donate numerous beds, feeders and other items to pet rescue groups, and in a further effort to help neglected, and homeless animals I donate a portion of all sales (as well as my own personal contributions) to The Humane Society of the United States, Best Friends Animal Society, and Kitten Rescue. I am also currently designing a line of pink products for the Susan G. Komen Fund for a Cure that I will donate 50% of all proceeds to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

Angela: That is very admirable. You also have the Not So Shabby Pets website. When did this launch?

Melissa: Not So Shabby Pets was launched three years ago.

Angela:  Thank you Melissa.  I’ve explored your online boutiques and can confirm first hand you do have some of most unique pet items I’ve ever seen. To learn more about Melissa’s online boutiques, visit: http://rock-bitch.com and http://notsoshabbypets.com
